Review #899; Rum #270: Savanna Agricole Edition Bois-Rogue

Savanna Agricole Edition Bois-Rogue

This rum comes to us from the Savanna distillery located on La Reunion Island. This is an Agricole, being a French island they can make agricole on it. Therefore, this rhum was distilled on a column still from fresh pressed cane juice that is a blend of 6 barrels. . This rhum was bottled to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the distillery moving to the Bois-Rouge in Saint Andre

This is a very good rhum. The flavors are good, but the brine is very overpowering here for me which I tend to like but this just doesn’t quite do it for me. I tend to prefer unaged agricole’s or ones that have been aged for a long time and this doesn’t hit the high mark of some other aged cane juice rhums or rums for me. A very good offering, but not quite up to the great or higher standard.
