Background: This is a Single Barrel of Four Roses Bourbon, specifically their OESK recipe. This bourbon was aged for 9 years and 7 months before being bottled at cask strength with no additives. I had this blind then was reveled the bottle so keep that in mind.
Nose: Ethanol, fairly strong, corn, grains, Caramel, grass, hint of spices, black pepper prominent.
Palate: Thick, hot, Oak, sweet caramel, Peanuts, oak, leather.
Finish: Long, Warm, peanuts, oak, leather, tobacco leafs Good, a bit punchy, peanut and oaky. A nice dram for when you want punched in the face.
Rating: 7/10
Guess: Knob Creek SiB Store Pick, 11+Years age.
Reveal: 4 Roses Private Select OESK Johnsons Liquors 9 Years 7 months.
Well, I was way off on that one but still showed I enjoy a good 4 PS. Compared it to my OESK and they are similar, but way more of the oak and tobacco in the sample. 4RPS have proven to consistently be one of my favorite thing in Bourbon.
