Review #618; Gin #11: Privateer Tiki Gin

This is a gin from the Privateer distillery in Ipswich Massachusetts, this is a molasses based spirit that is infused with herbs, spices, and freshly zested citrus. The ingredients are steeped for 2 nights and a day before being redistilled and rested in a stainless steel tank for 3 months. This is from Batch 6.

ABV: 47.5%

Nose: Pine, Orange Zest, cardamom, nutmeg, loads of citrus peel, lime zest, pineapple, clove, cinnamon. Warm, citrusy.

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Piney, orange, lemon, clove, black pepper, cardamom, pineapple bark.

Finish: Medium length finish. Warm. Burst of clove, cinnamon, black pepper, pine, orange zest, lemon zest

Rating: 7/10

Overall a great Gin. Bursting with flavor the citrus and spices take front seat here and make for an enjoyable experience. Its tasty neat, but really shines in more cocktail forward gins. Gin and tonics and Gin Rickeys are fantastic using this.
