Review #617; Rum #113: Gustoso Aguardiente White

This is an unaged Aguardiente from the hills of Uruapan, Michoacan. It is made from 100% cane sugar and is a blend of fermented cane juice distilled in a pot and first press molasses distilled on a column still.

ABV: 43%

Nose: Briney, slight grassiness, vanilla, herbalness, light floral.

Palate: Light mouthfeel. Vanilla, slight brine, slight vegetalness, cumin.

Finish: Short finish, slight brine, vegetables, vanilla

Rating: 5/10

Overall, a very solid rum. Good flavors, really strong on the brine, vanilla, and floralness. A bit of proof would help but even with the 43% abv this is just fine.
