Review #295; Rum #20: Pussers Gunpowder Proof

Pussers Gunpowder Proof

This is a rum according to the label that is bottled by “Pusser’s Rum LTD”, and that it is a product of Guyana. Let’s see how it holds up (and takes me to the Miami Rum Congress in my head rather than cold frozen north.)

ABV: 54.5%

Nose: Slightly metallic, fruits, Guava, banana, slight dark chocolate, black tea, tartness. Allspice.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Guava, slight dark chocolate, bitter tartness, black tea, pepper. Slight Metallicness on the end.

Finish: Medium length, Bitter Tartness, Metallic, black tea, slight vanilla.

Rating: 5/10

I think this is ok, compared to some of the other rums in a similar range that I have had, the weird metallic undertone it has going on throughout brings it down a little bit for me. However, for the price here it would be a pretty solid cocktail mixer and is fine to sip.
