This rum comes to us from the West Indies Rum Distillers (WIRD) located in Barbados. This rum was distilled in 2000, aged for 12 years then bottled in Scotland in 2012.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Toasted Brown Sugar, Caramel, a faint hint of industrial smoke, Earthy, Vanilla, Mango

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Vanilla, faint industrial, Earthy, Mango, faint nutmeg, black tea

Finish: Medium length finish, Faint Industrial, Nutmeg, Earthy, a bit of minerality, peppery, nutmeg, black tea

Rating: 7/10

Great rum. The lower proof does not hurt it in the flavor department at all. A nice mix of fruits, toasted and un-toasted spices, slight savoryness. This is my first experience with rum from WIRD of any kind but this is quite the great introduction. Alas, an enjoyable experience of a bygone era.
