Review #1261; Rum #568
This is a molasses based rum from Jamaica that was distilled on a Pot Still. It aged for one year in Jamaica in Ex-Bourbon, then a further 8 years in Europe in Ex-Bourbon before it was bottled at cask strength with no additives. It was distilled in Lluidas Vale in the Saint Catherine Parish in Jamaica.
Distillery: Worthy park
Bottler: La Maison Du Whisky x Velier
Region: Jamaica
Still: Pot
ABV: 60.4%
Cask: Ex-Bourbon
Nose: Banana Bread, Vanilla, Black Pepper
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Banana bread, Vanilla, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Touch of Grapefruit
Finish: Medium length finish, Banana Bread, Vanilla, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Grapefruit
This is a very good rum. It checks the boxes of what you want from a well aged Jamaican rum without being too woody or leaning into an extreme flavor profile. It’s well balanced, and keeps you wanting to come back for more.
