Here we have a bottle of rum bottled by The Whisky Agency to celebrate their 15th anniversary. This is a rum from Cuba that was aged in oak for 60 years before being bottled by the Whiskey Agency.

Nose: Dark Chocolate, Sandalwood, Toasted Nuts, Cheese Rind, Vanilla Bean, Raisins

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Marzipan, Dark Chocolate, Toasted Nuts, Vanilla Bean, Raspberry, Raisins, Soy Sauce, Caramel, Espresso

Finish:  Medium length finish, Blackberry, Dark Chocolate, Toasted Nuts, Cheese Rind, Vanilla Bean, Raisins, Soy Sauce, Caramel, Espresso

Rating: 8/10

I’m a big fan of this one. Rich heavy fruit notes, a nice oak backbone that is shockingly not overbearing, and some of those old rum notes of kind of Rancio and some spices. An incredible, no longer available, and very unaffordable rum release.
