Review #1086; Rum #413
This is a 13 year aged Sugar Cane juice rum from California. They choose to call it Agricole, however, I feel that should be reserved for the French islands that produce agricole. Anyway, the fresh pressed cane juice is distilled in a copper pot still after fementation and was then aged for a non-disclosed amount of time. This rum sat in a warehouse for 13 years in French Oak before being bottled.. It is said that it was bottled at cask strength as it was about to fall below 40%. This was bottled for Bar Agricole. The sugarcane used for the juice came from California as well.

The nose on this is awesome and full of flavor. But then it falls flat on the palate for me. There is a good base there but it is missing something. Even if this is likely cask strength it feels a bit too far gone. Overall interesting considering the sources and ageing, but not as good as I would have liked.
