Rolling Fork “Wisdom of Age”

Review #1430; Rum #729

Here we have a bottling from American Independent bottlers Rolling Fork. This rum is a blend of unaged Hampden rums forced from the Jamaican distillery. These rums were distilled from molasses after a long fermentation on copper pot stills. This rum was then blended with 80% LROK, 10% C<>H, and 10% DOK. They then bottled it with no additives at a high proof.

It’s an unaged Hampden blend with some high ester rum in it to kick it up a notch. Of course, I was going to love this. It is intense, bursting with flavor, thick and oily. I can see it working great in a cocktail but its really enjoyable to sip neat. It is also nice to have a rum with high ester stuff like this pre-diluted.  I like the 69% stuff as much as anyone but this is quite good down at this proof and I do not have to tinker too much with it. Man, Hampden can really make some incredible stuff huh. This was also a good blend by the lads over at Rolling Fork.
