This is a great American Single Malt. I wish this was a regularly available, always on the shelf release from Westland as this is something that could be the standard bearer for the category. Well balanced in flavor, layered, and a bit complex with notes that are unique enough to stand out on its own. The peat is more like Ardmore levels of peat, leaning on the bbq smoke side of the equation and as a part of the story, not dominating.
