Kohana Koho Rum
This rum comes to us from a distillery located on the Island of Oahu in the Pacific. This rum comes from fresh pressed cane juice. Kohana is very passionate about their sugar cane varietals that they cultivate. This varietal is the Ko Kea sugarcane. After distillation, it is aged in American Oak and finished in ex-bourbon.

Good base stuff going on here. Flavors are nice, but it’s missing something. That something is not oak though as the oak just pops out in this pretty dramatically for something so young. I want to like this more than I do, but I feel the need to seek out unaged offerings instead of aged cane juice, which I know performs less well for me. Regardless, it’s cool to see a US distillery doing cane juice rums.
