Rating: 7/10

Wow, I am impressed with this. The mesquite-smoked process is present and provides a great backbone for all the other flavors. Sharp minerality, Black Pepper, some faint sweetness from caramel and toasted brown sugar. This is pretty layered and balanced. What an impressive American Single Malt. The smoke here is hard to explain but less the ashy, rotten vegetation of peat and more along that classic Mesquite BBQ Beef smoke.
