Review #916; Rum #277: Pere Labat Organic

Pere Labat Organic Rhum

This rhum comes to us from Labat which is produced on the island of Marie Galante. Distilled from organic cane and bottled at a very high strength with no additives, let us see how it does.

ABV: 71.2%

Nose: Heavy citrus notes, Lemon Peel, Lime juice, Sea Salt, Raw Bell Pepper, Cucumber

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Lemon Peel, Lime Juice, Sea Salt, Bell Pepper, Cucumber, slight vanilla sweetness

Finish: Longer finish, Sea Salt, Lime Juice, Lemon Peel, Cucumber, Vanilla, Vegetal

Rating: 8/10

Excellent. The flavors in this pop out aggressively and in your face. The proof point is not noticeable as it drinks well under 70% and feels well integrated. The vegetal and salt notes really shine here as does the citrus. Great neat and killer in a cocktail I tried made with it, another great rhum from Pere Labat.
