Savanna 14yr (2004) Single Cask German Exclusive.

This bottling comes ot us from Savanna, that distillery located on Reunion Island. This rum here is distilled from Molasses on a copper column still, aged in the tropics for 14 years, and bottled without filtration or additives at cask strength.

ABV: 53.6%

Nose: Dark Chocolate, Raspberry, Sea Salt, Toasted Coconut, Black Pepper

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Dark Chocolate, Raspberry, Toasted Coconut, Sea Salt, Black Pepper, Crème Brulee

Finish: Longer finish, Dark Chocolate, Crème Brule, Raspberry, Toasted Coconut

Rating: 7/10

Always impressive these traditional Savanna offerings are. Loaded with fruits, spices, and some savory notes these nail a sort of classic aged rum profile for me without going all out on esters or weird flavor.
