Domain D’Aurensan 15yr (2006)

This single cask of Armagnac comes to us from the Domaine D’Aurensan producer. This bottling was distilled in 2006 on a Continuous small Armagnac still, put into a 220=liter Gascon Oak cask, utilized 100% Ugni Blanc Grapes, and was aged for 15 years. After ageing, it was bottled at cask strength with no additives or filtering for PM Spirits.

ABV: 42.8%

Nose: Dark Chocolate, Raspberry Jam, Allspice, Blackberry, Touch of leather, Orange Zest.

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Orange Zest, Blackberry, Dark Chocolate, Blueberry, Leather, hint of black pepper.

Finish: Medium length finish, Black Pepper, Orange Zest, hint of Raspberry, Black Pepper, Blueberry skin.

Rating: 7/10

Big and fruity, this is a fantastic Armagnac. The oak provides a nice buffer against the heavy fruit and the touches of savory spices sprinkled in bring this up to another level. Great stuff.
