Review #850; Rum #240: Rhum JM 3yr (2015) Single Barrel 20130720

This single cask of Rhum Jm was selected by Wine and Whiskey Country (Cellars). It was aged for 3 years (2015-2018) before being bottled. I am not sure on the cask ageing that was done but I would guess it to be French Oak based on my notes but I could be wrong. Lets get to reviewing this aged Rhum Agricole.

ABV: 47.3%

Nose: Green Apple, Raisins, Orange peel, Leather, Nuttiness, Herbaceous, Raisins.

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Green Apple, Orange Peel, Herbaceous, Nuttiness, Figs, Lemon Zest.

Rating: 7/10

A great aged agricole. Loaded with flavor, depth and complexity. Tons of fruits, spices, herbalness, and some nuttiness and leather, the amount of flavor this brings at the proof is astonishing. It’s a great balance of cask and distillate as well. I definitely need some bottles of this in my life and on my shelf.
