Review #839; Rum #233: Old New Orleans 121 Crystal Rum

This rum comes to us by way of Celebration Distillation, who makes the Old New Orleans Crystal Rum lime. This bottling is made from Louisiana Molasses that has been double pot distilled and charcoal filtered before being bottled at a high proof.

ABV: 60.5%

Nose: Toasted Sugar, Banana, Lime Zest, Must.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Musty Standing Water, lime, Banana.

Finish: Too long, Bitter, Musty Standing Water, lime zest.

Rating: 2/10

Standing Water Must slight lime and sugar. This is disappointing. You could bury this in a sweet mixed drink maybe but I don’t see much redeeming about it. Its not crazy offensively bad so it misses the dreaded 1 rating, but its very poor.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
