I went into this expecting this rum to be quite overoaked, but to my surprise the oak structure is nice. The heavy savory notes I suspect come from the 16 years of tropical ageing and pair nicely with the fruits and heavy coconut note I get from this rum. Combined with the spices this makes for another excellent Foursquare release. Based on my math from the label, this was distilled in 2005. That would continue the trend (I didn’t check this till after the review) of Foursquares distilled that year performing very well for me. Im not sure what they did that year but they need to keep doing it.
