This Ardmore was bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. It was distilled in 2006, aged for 12 years in an ex-bourbon barrel before being put into a 2nd fill ex-red wine Barrique for a further 2 years. It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives or chill-filtering.

ABV: 60.1%

Nose: Hickory Smoked Pork, Hay, Brine, Black Pepper, Currants, Lemon Grass.

Palate: Thick mouthfeel, Hickory Smoked Pork, Brine, Black Pepper, Lemon Grass, Grill Char, Currant Jam.

Finish: Medium length finish, Black Berry Jam, Hickory Prok, Black Pepper, Grill Char, Currants, Lemon Zest.

Rating: 7/10

Great. This is distilled essence of a BBQ in the fall, hanging around the smoker waiting for it to get done. The flavors are great and well balanced. Another winning Ardmore for me, which has become one of my favorite distilleries.
