Review #83; Rye #18: Woody Creek 4yr 101 Single Barrel

Big Rye Roundup #1

This is a series that I will be posting my reviews and reveal from but no the overall results. A group of us did a big rye split where we samples over a month blind samples from each other where we dedicated whole bottles, set those scores into a google doc, then pronounced a winner after it was all over.

There was a non-participating member who made sure there were no double entries so lets kick this off.

Rye #1

ABV: 50.5%

Nose: Herbal spice, grassy, hint of dill, cotton candy sweetness

Palate: Herbal spice, vanilla, sweet grassy cotton candy, butter scotch,

Finish: Medium, herbal spice, dill, lingering butterscotch sweetness

Rating: 7/10

A pretty good rye, I had not guessed any at this point but would have guessed some kind of MGP.
