Review #806; Rum #219: Habitation Velier Takamaka White 2021

This rum comes to us by way of Dependent bottler Velier. This rum came from Seychelles and is from sugar cane grown on the island of Mahe. The distillation is carried out in Pot Still still by the Trois Frères distillery in La Plaine Saint-André. This edition of Pure Single Rum has a congeners content of 466.2 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol.

ABV: 56%

Nose: Olive Oil, Brine, Hot Plastic Bag, Cumin, Graham Cracker

Palate: Lighter mouthfeel, Olive Oil, Brine, Cumin, Graham Cracker, Lemon Zest.

Finish: Medium length finish, Brine, Allspice, Graham Cracker, Lemon Zest.

Rating: 5/10

This is quite pleasant. It has good flavors that are nice all around but it seems to be lacking some oomph or something. The proof isn’t overpowering or hot, but it just seems like a bit of something is lacking here to really take it to the next level for me.
