ABV: 56.1%

Nose: Figs, Dates, Allspice, Nutmeg, Black Pepper, New Leather Wallet, Dark Chocolate, Oak Spice, Candied Orange Peel

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Candied Orange Peel, Figs, Allspice, Date, Nutmeg, Dark Chocolate, Oak Spice, Heavy Nuttiness

Finish: Long length finish, Candied Orange Peel, Figs, Nutmeg, Black Pepper, Big ole oak spice notes, Nuttiness

Rating: 8/10

Another excellent pick by the Aficionados group, this Cognac is full of savory spices and oak driven flavors that are reigned in by underlying fruits. Orange Peel, Fig, and Dates combine to make for a compote like fruitiness joined together with baking spices and dark chocolate. The oak structure compliments it all well and is tame given the purported 48 year age on this.
