Background: This is a bottle of rye from Buffalo Trace bottled for the EH Taylor line and likely sourced from Barton. I had this blind then was revealed the notes so keep that in mind while reading my review.
ABV: 50%
Nose: Spice, tary but sweet berries, fruity, All spice, baking spices, Fruity
Palate: Spicy, honeycomb, berries, tartness, oak, hint of leather. These flavors are balanced but stand well on their own too.
Finish: Medium length, tarty, spicy, oaky, and a hint of that leather.
This is delicious, well balanced. Taste like a ryes rye.
Rating: 6 /10
Guess: Barely legal rye, more bourbony. Perhaps a Knob Creek Rye store pick
Reveal: EHT BiB Rye
I have reviewed this before, and gave it a 5/10 then. I stand by that review. A fine rye but way over priced due to tater madness.
