This is a high ester rum from the New Yarmouth estate, selected by 1423 and their S.B.S series and sold by Rombo, a retailer based out of Denmark. This was distilled in 2020 at New Yarmouth and placed into a first fill ex-Oloroso sherry cask for 11 months before being bottled at cask strength with no chill filtering. This rum has an ester count of 1500-1600, making it the highest legal amount they can distill.

This is not bad. the High ester is very evident on the nose and finish, I feel like the cask loses it somewhat on the Palate. That first fill Oloroso is doing a lot of covering up. I don’t think this needed any ageing on it at all. A bit of soapiness comes in at the end that brings this down for me. They should have bottled this unaged.
