This rhum comes to us from the Bellevue au Moule Distiller in Grande-Terre. This rhum is produced on column stills from fresh estate sugar cane juice, fermented for 24-36 hours, and distilled to 86 or 88% abv. It was distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2010. This bottling came from an outlay of 42 casks and has been bottled at cask strength with no additives. Using FatRumPirate as a resource I ran across an article from rumporter that indicates this bottling is a 50/50 blend of rhum agricole and molasses. Let’s see how it turned out.

This is an excellent rhum. Its complex, well balanced, and runs on the savory side of char, bitter, and pepper that is brought back by some fruit jam and spices. Its rich and thick without being too overpowering in any one direction. It is the best-aged Rhum Agricole I have had so far. A true winner in my book.
