Review #745; Rum #184: Renegade Pre-Cask Dunfermline (Pot Still)

This rum comes to us from the Renegade rum distillery located in Grenada. These “pre-cask” rums are unaged, fresh pressed sugarcane juice rums that have been distilled on a pot still or column still. Each bottling comes from a different farm and cane varietal on Grenada in order to explore the terroir of the spirit and the island.

This cane code can be used on Renegades website to access the nerdiest rum page you can imagine about this bottling, so I have included it for you here.

Cane Code: PC06H20-P1

ABV: 50%

Nose: Lemon Zest, Black Tea, Vanilla, Slight Nuttiness, Toasted Coconut, Minerality

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Black Tea, Nuttiness, Toasted Coconut, Minerality, slight glue

Rating: 7/10

Another great Cane Juice rum from Renegade. Loads of minerality, spices, faint fruits, and that nuttiness that makes for a great tasting experience. Having had the Column Still version of this last night , this one provides a different flavor and one that I prefer. Its heavier in terms of flavor with a bit more complexity. Great balance and flavors.
