Review #742; Rum #181: Renegade Pre-Cask Old Bacolet

This is a series of rums from Grenadian rum Distiller Renegade Cane Rum. Each bottling comes from a different farm and cane varietal on Grenada in order to explore the terroir of the spirit and the island. This bottling comes from the “Cain” varietal, was distilled on a Pot Still, and Harvested in 2020 before being bottled.

Each bottle comes with a cane code, which gives you all of the dorkiest details you could want out of a rum. Variety, Terroir, Harvest, Soil, etc. I have included it below for those curious to search it up on Renegades site.

Rating: 7/10

A great unaged cane juice rum. It hits those savory noes of Brine, Lemon, and Vegetal notes will still bringing in some fruits, weird funky glue, and some spices that tie it all together. The flavor here lives up to the super deep nerd dive the cane code provides, and I can’t wait to try the rest of these. Now, let’s get these in American so I can buy some bottles of it.
