Review #731; Rum #175: Three Roll Estate “Brazilian Style” Rum

This rum comes from Three Roll Estate, a producer located in Baton Rouge, Louisana. This Cachaca-inspiried rum is made with fresh pressed cane jucie from Louisana’s sugar harvest, fermented with yeast from Brazil, distilled on a pot still, and bottled with no additives. This particular sample comes from Cane harvested in 2018.

ABV: 45%

Nose: Rainwater, Bell Peppery, Citrus Zest

Palate: Light mouthfeel, Lemon Zest, Slight Rainwater, Minerality, dampness. Must.

Finish: Short Finish, Rainwater, dampness, must.

Rating: 3/10

This is bad. It has some interesting things going on in it. The minerality and lemon zest flavors are cool but it has this damp musty basement things going on that really brings it down. The potential is there for sure but this misses the mark for me.
