Review #73; Bourbon #38: Old Forester 1920

Background: This is a NAS bourbon from Brown-Forman for their Whiskey Row Series that I had blind and then was revealed the bottling

ABV: 57.5%

Nose: Caramel sweetness, apples, oak, allspice, and artificial banana

Palate: Still a bit of a thin-mediumish mouthfeel. Caramel sweetness, sharp ethanol, Oak and black pepper.

Finish: Shortish-medium. The oak and ethanol hand around and evaporate but there isn’t much to it.

A bit of a mixing drink as well. There is slightly more flavor here but again the ethanol over powers it and after attempting a big sip this bottle would be relegated to the mixer pile.

Rating: 4/10

Guess: Old Forester 1897

Reveal: 1920

Well I was disappointed as I had thought I Liked this (I Have a previous review from 5 months ago and a full bottle). But my tastes may have changed some since then. Blind is still the best way to truly see what you think of a drink.
