Review #720; Scotch #189: PM Spirits Project Arran 24yr

This is a blend from PM spirits; this single malt was distilled on Arran. It was aged for 16 years in Scotland before being transferred to first fill Cognac Barrels and aged for 8 years in a cellar / lobby in France. Due to shipping delays it was aged an extra year and bottled at cask strength with no additives.

ABV: 46.8%

Nose: Raisins, Dark Fruits, Dark Chocolate, Black Tea, Apple, Pear, Hay,

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, bready Apple, Pear, Black Tea, Dark Chocolate, Fig jam

Finish: Medium length finish, Apple, Bready, Dark Chocolate, Fig Jam

Rating: 8/10

This is an excellent bottling. The fruits are nice, the bread and malt are there, and the spices and dark chocolate really bring it all together as a harmonious experience. The heavy fruits brought by the Cognac finish (I assume) really make this an excellent drink that goes great with the base Arran malt spirit. Well done by Arran and PM Spirits.
