Review #716; Scotch #187: PM Spirits Project Arran 7yr

This is a malt whiskey that was distilled on The Isle of Arran before being aged for 7 years in France, this 3 barrel blend was unpeated distillate aged in a first fill sherry cask, unpeated distillate aged in a first fill ex bourbon cask, and a peated distillate aged in a first fill bourbon cask. These were aged seperatley, blended together, then bottled at cask strength after 7 years with no additives.

ABV: 53.8%

Nose: Raisins, Nutmeg, Fall Vegetation, Raspberries, dirty vanilla, Breadiness, Black Pepper

Palate: Medium Mouthfeel, Breadiness, Fall Vegetation, Slight Earthiness, Hay, Raisins, Black Pepper, Nutmeg.

Finish: Medium length finish, Fall Vegetation, Earthiness, Black Pepper, Hay, Raisins, Slight Breadiness.

Rating: 7/10

This is a great blend by PM spirits. There is some fruitiness on the nose but it leans way into the savory aspect of the palate. Lots of earthiness, bread, Hay, and spices that remind me of a good classic Arran. This tends to be one of my favorite distilleries and this is another winner from them.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
