Review #705; Bourbon #157: Starlight 5yr r/bourbon single barrel “Starlight #1”

This is a bottling selected by our very own panel for r/bourbon. Starlight is a distillery is based out of Indiana and is distilling their own bourbon. This bottling is 5 years old, was aged in ISC Char #4 Barrels, and bottled at cask strength.

ABV: 59.9%

Nose: Cocoa, Vanilla Cream, Black Pepper,

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Cocoa, Vanilla, Confectionary Sugar, Black Pepper

Finish: Medium length finish, Cocoa, Vanilla Cream, Black Pepper

Rating: 6/10

Overall, a very good dessert forward bourbon. Good flavors, good mouthfeel, and a good first experience with Starlight distillery for me.

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite
