Review #695; Tequila #7: G4 Blanco

This Tequila comes to us from NOM 1579. This tequila was cooked in Stone Ovens, extracted with a Tahona and fermented in stainless steel tanks before being distilled 2 times on a copper pot still. The water is a mix of rainwater and spring water used during fermentation.

I tried this blind and then was revealed the bottle so keep that in mind

ABV: 54%

Nose: Heavy Vegetalness, Grass, raw green bell peppers, sea salt, minerality

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Green Vegetals, young green wood, minerality, green bell pepper, sea salt, lemon zest

Finish: Medium length finish. Vanilla, Fresh Cut Grass, minerality, sea salt, lemon zest

Rating: 6/10

Crips, refreshing, clean. This is quite a good drink. It doesn’t rise to amazing, but it is very good and one I could see myself sipping on a hot summer day.

Guess: Rhum Agricole, Unaged, 48-51%. Barbosa?

Reveal: G4 Blanco 108

Interesting, I like a lot of the flavors here and it’s a nice proof. 6 is a good score for me and given the price I Could see myself keeping this around for neat sipping in the summer or cocktailing with.
