Background: This is an uncut, non chill filtered 12 year age stated cask strength bourbon released in 3 batches during the year, with the code showing month and year released.
ABV: 65.5%
Nose: Very sweet caramel, butterscotch, baking spices, oak. Pretty muted nose, made me work for it despite the high abv.
Palate: Heat, Brown Sugar, Oak, Leather, Caramel, butterscotch, Hint of some fruits after becoming used to the high abv. Lots of flavor.
Finish: Mediumish. Caramel Butterscotch, oak, leather. A nice finish that lingers Overall, pretty good. Well balanced flavor wise, no doubt about this being a barrel proof if a little hot. Still wouldn’t mind a bottle of it.
