This is a single cask from Privateer, a rum distiller located in Ipswich Massachusetts. This rum was distilled on a column still before being put in New American Oak for 5 years and 3 months. It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives.
ABV: 57.4%
Nose: Caramel, Black Pepper, Toasted Coconut, fig, blackberry.
Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel. Big burst of blackberry, nutmeg, vanilla bean, toasted coconut.
Finish: Longer length finish, fruits, blackberry, vanilla bean, fig, nutmeg, toasted coconut.
Rating: 8/10
This is an absolute delicious rum from Privateer. Tons of fruits, spices, and great depth of flavor with an oily mouthfeel and long finish. This is one of the best distiller’s drawers I have tried from Privateer and a delicious rum.
