Background: This is a single barrel of Knob Creek bourbon, distilled by Jim Beam and bottled for the Orlando Whiskey Society. I had this blind then was revealed the bottle so keep that in mind while reading my review.
ABV: 60%
Nose: Sweet Caramel, Vanilla, Citrus, Oak, Pepper, a kind of good funk
Palate: Thick mouthfeel. Lots Oak, Caramel, Pepper, Leather, Tart fruit,
Finish: Long, Dry, Warm. Oak, Leather, Pepper.
Rating: 6/10
This is fine, a good drink but the oak is a little heavy in this but not too much. Kind of a nice oaky punch for when you want a pleasant oak bomb.
Guess: 10+year old store pick; RRSiB?
Reveal: Knob Creek SiB; Five Star Orlando Whiskey Society Pick, 14 years Off, this was fine as I said above, but the oakiness is explained by the age.
