Review #643; Mezcal #69: Amormata Bicuixe Jarquin

This is a mezcal batch picked for the Madre restaurant. Outside of that and the batch I don’t have a ton of info! So let us dive in.

Mezcalero:Familia Jarquin

Batch:BICU-J 15/05/20

ABV: 47.8%

Nose: Charred Bell Peppers, Earthiness, Minerality, Springtime Rain, Black Tea,

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Charred Bell Peppers, Black Tea, Slight nuttiness, Earthiness, Black Tea, Black Pepper, Sea Salt

Finish: Medium length finish. Brine, Earth, Black Tea, Black Pepper, Grilled Bell Peppers, big pop of Minerals, slight nuttiness

Rating: 8/10

Crisp refreshing, this is all savory flavors and I am here for it. Tons of earth, water, minerality, spices, and that nice crisp green vegetable that has been grilled pulls it all together. I like the fruit laden Mezcal’s and the weird stuff too, but this is just a nice smack in the face of acidity and savory flavors. A real winner in my book.
