Review #634; Gin #14: Oakland Spirits Co Automatic No. 5

This gin is new to me and I have not been able to find a ton of info on it. However, we do know that it is made with a grape base spirit. With that being said let us see how it is.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Vegetal, Bell Peppers, Earthiness, Orange Peel, Lemon Zest, Raisin.

Palate: Light Mouthfeel, Vegetal, Carrot, Bell Pepper, Brine, Earthy, Lemon Zest

Finish: Short finish. Burst of Lemon, Raisin, cinnamon

Rating: 5/10

Overall, a fine offering. It has good base flavors, but would do well in cocktail I would think. I do not find that all the flavors mesh very well for me. I look forward to trying a few other gin expressions from this distillery.

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
