Review #622; Tequila #2: Pasote Anejo

This is a tequila from NOM 1579. It was be extracted with a Tahona, using well water and rain water and is 2x distilled on a copper pot and aged in ex-bourbon barrels with no additives.

I had this blind, so keep that in mind while reading this.

ABV: 40%

Nose: Green Vegetalness, vanilla, green apple, campfire smoke,

Palate: Light mouthfeel. Vegetalness, vanilla, campfire smoke, slight green apple, mango

Finish: Short finish. Pop of vegetalness, minerality, vanilla, campfires smoke, black pepper.

Rating: 5/10

Guess: 40%, aged 1-2 years in ex-bourbon barrels.

Reveal: Pasote Añejo

I am not too surprised but this is just my 2nd review of a tequila. Overall, its just fine for me. It feels just a tad too simple and too proofed down. 43-46% would help this really shine I think.
