Review #621; Rum #115: Nashville Bourbon Company Venezuela Rum 6yr “Seelbach’s Select”

This bottle of rum comes to us from Nashville Barrel Company. This single cask of rum is sourced from Venezuela (no source on which distillery). It was aged for 6 years, 4.5 in the Caribbean then finished for 2 years in ex-bourbon in Nashville before being bottled.

ABV: 66.68%

Nose: Crème Brulee, toasted brown sugar, charred mango.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Vanilla frosting, slight coffee, black pepper, charred mango.

Finish: Medium length finish. Toffee, black pepper, black tea.

Rating: 5/10

Overall this is fine. It has good flavors but does not really rise above. This is very much aimed towards fans of bourbon, which is not a bad thing at all. However, it does not quite hit those high notes for me and I would be disappointed If I had bought a bottle of this.
