Review #616; Bourbon #145: Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition (2020)

This is the yearly limited edition blend from Four Roses. This bottle is non chill filtered and has the following recipe and ages in its blend, which is released at barrel strength:

• 12 Year OBSV

• 12 Year OESV

• 19 Year OBSK

• 16 Year OESK

ABV: 55.7%

Nose: Vanilla Cream, Butterscotch, tobacco leaf, green apple, dark chocolate, black pepper, slight rye spice.

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel. Green apple, rye spice, spearmint, tobacco leaf, black pepper.

Finish: Medium length finish. Black pepper, butterscotch, green apple, heavy spearmint, slight rye spice, black tea.

Rating: 8/10

Another excellent offering from a Four Roses LE. Full of flavor, well balanced, complex with a fantastic mouthfeel to boot. Its hard to go wrong with these, though for my taste this falls slightly behind the 2019 and 2018 LE’s.
