Review #582; Rum #96: La Favorite 2018 Riviere Bel Air

This is an unaged rum from the La Favorite distillery on Martinique. This is made in the classic way of Rhum Agricole, following the AOC. It was distilled in 2018, between July and October of that year.

I had this blind, took my notes, then was revealed the rum so keep that in mind.

ABV: 53%

Nose: Heavy lemon zest, peppery, vegetalness, slight medicinalness,

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Heavy lemon zest, black pepper, allspice, vegetalness, medicinalness, minerality.

Finish: Medium length finish. Warm. Black Pepper, heavy lemon peel, allspice, green vegetalness

Rating: 7/10

Not complex but powerfully delicious. Heavy green vegetalness, lemon peel, black pepper, with some other faint spices and a nice minerality thrown in the mix. This is fantastic

Guess: 58-60% abv, Martinique, and that’s about the best guess you are going to get out of me on this.

Reveal: Off on proof, but I got the island right so a win perhaps? Regardless, this is some awesome stuff.

This is a re-review of something I had not blind earlier in the year.
