This comes to us from Campeltown and is a 14 year old Kilkerran. This was aged entirely in a refill bourbon casks, triple distilled, and bottled at cask strength with no additives and was non-chill filtered. This was bottled and sold for the Virtual Campbeltown Festival.
ABV: 57.8%
Nose: Honey, Graham cracker, Vanilla, faint banana, lemon zest, slight metallic note (copper?), slight bread.
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, lemon zest, honey, slight copper note, dark chocolate, slight bread.
Finish: Medium length finish. Warm, slight over-ripe blueberries, lemon zest, toffee, dark chocolate.
Rating: 7/10
This is a great bottling from Kilkerran for me. Loads of flavor, good balance of savory with a touch of sweetness throw in. This is yet another great example of how good a simple refill bourbon cask can be in the right hands. This was a buy all day long at MSRP, but at auction ehhh miss me with that.
