Review #566; Rum #85: Chairman’s Reserve Master Select 13yr 50/50 John Dore 1/Vendome Pot Still “Lincoln Road Selection”

50/50 John Dore 1 – Vendome

This Chairman’s pick comes to us from Package store Lincoln Road. It is a 13 year old Blend of distillate from the John Dore 1 Pot Still and the Vendome Pot still. It was tropically aged for all 13 years, and bottled with no additives. Let’s see how it holds up.

ABV: 56.3%

Nose: Strong, Pungent. Heavy Raspberry, Vanilla Cream, strawberry, licorice

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Raspberry, strawberry, tart blueberry, vanilla cream, oak spice, black pepper, lemon zest.

Finish: Medium length finish. Warm and dry. Raspberry, milk chocolate, tart blueberry, vanilla cream, black pepper.

Rating: 7/10

This is once again another great offering from St. Lucia veering heavy into the fruits and chocolate notes with some nice spice to balance it out. This is surprisingly light on the industrial and fruit funk some other offerings have had but it is a nice change of pace.
