Review #563; Rum #82: Foursquare ECS 12yr 2007

This comes to us from Barbados distiller Foursquare. It Is 12 years old, aged entirely in ex-bourbon casks, and is a blend of pot and column distillate. Compared to the 2005 offering, this has more Pot Still rum in the blend. This has no additives and was bottled at 59%.

ABV: 59%

Nose: Vanilla cream, caramel, coconut, nutmeg.

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Loads of Vanilla cream, toffee, coconut, caramel, nutmeg, good oak structure.

Finish: Medium length finish. Warm, milk chocolate, vanilla cream, coconut, nutmeg, nice oak structure

Rating: 6/10

Overall, another winner for me from Foursquare. In comparison, I like this slightly less than the 2005, but this is still a delicious and good example of a high proof, well aged Barbados rum.
