Review #54; Indian Whisky #1: Amrut Single Cask Peated Portpipe #4668

Background: This is a single peated malt, matured in port pipes. Distilled in Match of 2013 and bottled in October of 2017 exclusively for the U.S. Market.

ABV: 56.5%

Nose: Warm meaty peat, Sweet dark fruits, hint of grapes, bbq.

Palate: Thick mouthfeel. Warm peaty bbq, meat, dark fruits, hint of brine, and grapes. Port influence is slight.

Finish: Long, Warm BBq peat, grapes, and port. Wonderful and delicious.

Rating: 8/10

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite
