This bottling comes to us via Fine Drams and the Aficionados group. This Grosperrin, of their oldest selections yet, was aged its whole life in oak. Though not official, a certain World War will come to mind, as it had just ended when this was barreled. Let’s see how well they chose.

Palate: Medium and oily mouthfeel. Figs, dark chocolate, light char, apple, nutmeg, black pepper, tobacco leaf,
Finish: Longerish finish. Warm, dark chocolate, black pepper, faint char, green apple, tobacco leaf
Rating: 7/10
This is a good Cognac. Loads of Rich dark chocolate, fruitiness with lots of figs and apple, good spices and well balanced with the oak integration. Given the age I am surprised it was not oakier but they managed this barrel well. An excellent addition to your bar for those of you willing out there.
