Review #535; Rum #69: La Favorite 2018 Riviere Bel Air

This comes to us from La Favorite, and comes from Cane Red, which is grown for its sugar content. Long fermentation, and being AOC protected agricole, let’s see how it tastes.

ABV: 53%

Nose: Brine, Cheese funk, Black Pepper, floralness.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, brine, lemon zest, cheese funk, floralness

Finish: Medium length finish, lemon and lime zest, briney, black pepper.

Rating: 6/10

This has some good stuff going on it in. Its layered and complex, nice citrus, faint cheese funk, spices, and some underlying earthiness that makes for a tasty and refreshing drink. I’ve not made much run on the Agricole circuit but clearly I need more in my life.
