This comes to us from Velier Royal Navy, a blend of rums from the countries that used to supply rums for the Royal Navy. This one comes to us as a lend of Worthy Park and Demarara Distillers.
I had this blind, so keep that in mind while reading my notes.
ABV: 57.18%
Nose: Floralness, Brown Sugar, lemon bar, mango, industrial funk.
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Floralness, lemon bar, mango, pop of bubble gum, nutmeg, light allspice, dark chocolate, light industrial funk.
Finish: Medium length finish, pop of black pepper, lemon zest, mango, nutmeg, hint of cough syrup, oak spice.
Rating: 8/10
Guess: This has a ton going on and is petty tasty. It has a rotting fruit funk and bubblegum that makes me think a well aged Jamaican, 12-15 years old. But there is an underlying thing going on I can’t quite place with that light industrial funk and heavy robust fruit notes and spices. Im going to guess this is a navy blend of some kind, 56-59% abv, and of 2-4 rums with a chunk of the blend being from Jamaica, lets say Worthy Park. Velier Royal Navy Tiger Shark.
Reveal: Velier Royal Navy Tiger Shark. This exceptional rum kept changing as I drank it. Complex, full of flavor and challenging this is one of my favorite aged rums I have drank. Was shocked at how I was able to nail this blind, my best performance yet.
